Happy New Year!

Wishing all a very happy new year! May the coming year bless us all with good health, happiness, love, success and prosperity!

As I wrote the above few words, I was reminded of the response given by somebody to the Christmas wishes I had posted on a Facebook group. The person insisted that giving good wishes is a mistake as it is not possible for everyone in the world to be happy.

Well, if you happen to feel the same, then please, a good wish is not a promise that everyone would be happy. It’s the expression of desire of a person to see all their loved ones, friends, and acquaintances happy and well. It is a way to communicate that I’m thinking of you and I care for you and wish you well. Besides, one must always try to adhere to positive thinking. Realities are realities we all know. But one must not sink into them so deep as to give up all hope of resurfacing. So, think positive, hope for the best, and don’t hesitate in forwarding or receiving good wishes. Good wishes are the murmuring of love and affection, and they should always be welcomed with open arms and open heart.

So, here’s wishing you all again, HAPPY NEW YEAR. And may God shower His best blessings on you all.

Happy new year wish

“May Light always surround you;
Hope kindle and rebound you.
May your Hurts turn to Healing;
Your Heart embrace Feeling.
May Wounds become Wisdom;
Every Kindness a Prism.
May Laughter infect you;
Your Passion resurrect you.
May Goodness inspire
your Deepest Desires.
Through all that you Reach For,
May your arms Never Tire.”
― D. Simone

And to start the new year on a positive note, here are some lovely quotes about the new year. Enjoy!

1

“Hope

Smiles from the threshold of the year to come,

Whispering ‘it will be happier’…”

― Alfred Tennyson

2

“For last year’s words belong to last year’s language

And next year’s words await another voice.”

― T.S. Eliot, Four Quartets

3

“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.

Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it.

Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

― Neil Gaiman

 “We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called Opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.”

― Edith Lovejoy Pierce

5

 “Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right.” —Oprah Winfrey

5. “For a new year to bring you something new, make a move, like a butterfly tearing its cocoon! Make a move!” —Mehmet Murat Ildan

7

“What the New Year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the New Year.” —Vern McLellan

8

“I have the opportunity, once more to right some wrongs, to pray for peace, to plant some trees, and sing more joyful songs.” —William Arthur Ward

9

“The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year, but rather that we should have a new soul.” —G.K. Chesterton

10

 “Maybe this year, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives not looking for flaws, but looking for potential.” —Ellen Goodman

And finally, allow me to repeat a poem of my own:

First of January is not just a day
to remove the old calendar
and throw it away
It’s the beginning of a new chapter
in the book of time.
ready to be filled in
with new songs and rhymes
Let’s hope that the story
that would now unfold
would be happy and joyous,
cheerful, good and bold,
A new beginning awaits us,
a blank new page to fill
with new hopes and aspirations,
a new chance to fulfill
all our dreams, desires and hopes,
and with renewed courage to stand
against our troubles, and bravely cope,

So let’s look ahead
with renewed promises, zest and cheer,
and welcome with open arms and smile
the coming brand new year!
